New Hair-Styling Gel Goes FAR Above Most

A new hair-care product recently landed on my desk from a company called FAR—Fat & Rich Botanicals. What caught my attention was that the Cojoba Styling Gel is natural and for coarse or curly hair. Having both, of the latter, I’m always on the lookout for new products that work well, especially natural varieties, which are difficult to find. 

Most products for curly hair either weigh it down or dry it out. I was pleased to discover that Cojoba didn’t do either. When you apply it to damp hair, it helps curl definition and also leaves hair feeling moisturized—wow! One day I did put on a bit much and the result was an oily sheen that made it look like I hadn’t washed my hair recently; it does say on the bottle to use sparingly though.

So, the product works, but what about the ingredients and company? Both get a thumbs-up from me. The product contains none of the conventional, usual suspects: propylene glycol, animal byproducts, parabens or petrochemical byproducts. The moisturizing comes from oils of coconut, jojoba and linseed. The company’s products are cruelty-free, and 95 percent or more of the ingredients are organic or natural. I liked it enough to wonder how the shampoo and conditioner work. . . .
